This month, the 2 held its annual general assembly in Rayale. It was a vibrant gathering of women leaders, community members, and partners, and Padam was honoured to attend on behalf of the Himalayan Leaky Foundation (HLF).

The assembly also provided the perfect moment to reflect on the incredible results of the winter farming season. Across 24 women’s groups in Rayale, the women produced over 100 tonnes of vegetables — including cauliflower, radish, onions, peas, and mustard greens — generating more than NPR 3.5 million in income. These figures are remarkable, showing the determination and hard work of these amazing women.

As part of the annual plan, the cooperative recognised the three best-performing groups from the WEP. They were awarded cash prizes and certificates of honour, celebrating their contribution to the success of the season.

Building on this momentum, Prabin has already begun distributing seeds for the new farming year. So far, he has visited around eight villages, delivering seeds and providing training on planting techniques. These visits are setting women up for another productive season, and the energy captured in these sessions show their determination to keep building on the progress they’ve made.
