This past winter was a season of success for the Komhendo Women’s Group in Thamdanda. Together, the women produced over 12 tonnes of vegetables, generating more than NPR 500,000 in income. Onions, radish, and cauliflower proved the most profitable, showing how women-led farming is building food security and sustainable livelihoods.

Following this successful season, our team returned to Thamdanda to distribute new seeds and provide training for the year ahead. Prabin led the session, guiding the women through planting techniques and crop care, ensuring they are well prepared to continue building on last season’s achievements.

The visit was filled with warmth and pride. Despite many of the younger generation being away for work, the older women continue to carry the group with determination. One grandmother even returned to the village especially to be part of the gathering — a moving reminder of the deep spirit and commitment within this community.
